Why I Don’t Train the Same Every Week (And Why You Shouldn’t Either)
Hey girls…
Taking things back to basics around Cycle Syncing today.
If you’ve ever started a workout plan with the best intentions, only to burn out or lose motivation a few weeks in, I get it. I’ve been there.
For years, I followed the same training schedule week after week because that’s what the fitness world told me to do — push harder, stick to the plan, no excuses.
But here’s the thing… our bodies aren’t the same every week. Our energy isn’t the same. Our hormones definitely aren’t the same. So why are we training like they are?
Once I learned about cycle syncing; the idea that you can adapt your workouts to the four phases of your menstrual cycle — everything changed. My energy felt more stable, my results actually improved, and I stopped feeling guilty for taking rest days.
The Problem with “One-Size-Fits-All” Training:
Most workout programs are designed with men’s biology in mind. Their hormones run on a 24-hour cycle. Ours? Around 28 days. This means our strength, endurance, and recovery change week to week.
When you ignore those natural fluctuations, you can end up pushing too hard when your body actually needs something gentler - which can lead to fatigue, stress, and even more cravings.

How I Train Now:
I look at my cycle as a built in training schedule:
Menstrual phase – I slow things down with gentle Pilates, stretching, and walking. This is when my energy is lowest, so I focus on recovery.
Follicular phase – My energy starts to climb, so I add in more strength training and dynamic Pilates flows.
Ovulation phase – This is my peak energy window. I go for my heaviest lifts, higher-intensity workouts, and more challenging Pilates sequences.
Luteal phase – My energy gradually dips again, so I shift back to lower-impact movement, mobility work, and core-focused strength.
It’s not about doing less. It’s about doing the right thing at the right time… and that’s where the magic happens.
Why You’ll Love Training This Way?
Cycle syncing your workouts isn’t restrictive. It’s freeing. It gives you permission to work with your body, not against it. You’ll see better results, feel more energised, and finally stop the guilt cycle of “I missed a workout so I’ve failed.”
If you’ve ever wished your workouts felt more natural, more intuitive, and less like a chore — this is it.
Want to try it for yourself? This is exactly how I design the workouts inside Sync with Georgia — every Pilates class is tagged to a cycle phase so you know what’s best for your body that day.
Your body changes week to week. Your workouts should too.
