My Ovulation Glow Salad Recipe (and Why It Works)
The ovulation phase is hands-down my favourite time of the month. My energy is high, my mood is brighter, my workouts feel strong, and my skin has that “just got back from holiday” glow — even if I’ve been at my desk all week.
But here’s the thing… that glow doesn’t just magically appear. What you eat during ovulation can make a big difference to how your body feels and how your skin looks. This is the time to lean into colourful, nutrient-rich foods that fuel your peak energy and support your body’s natural detox pathways.
And yes, I have the perfect salad for that.
The Glow Salad
This salad is fresh, colourful, and packed with everything your ovulating self needs — fibre for hormone balance, antioxidants for skin, and plenty of protein to fuel those strong follicular-to-ovulation workouts.
You’ll Need:
1 large handful of rocket (peppery greens boost digestion)
1 large handful of spinach (magnesium-rich to keep stress low)
½ papaya, diced (vitamin C for skin health and collagen production)
¼ avocado, sliced (healthy fats for hormone stability)
50g grilled halloumi, sliced (protein and calcium boost)
1 tbsp pumpkin seeds (zinc for ovulation health)
A small handful of pomegranate seeds (antioxidants for that glow)
For the dressing:
1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
Juice of ½ lime
½ tsp honey
Pinch of sea salt
How to Make It?
Toss your greens in a bowl.
Layer on the papaya, avocado, grilled halloumi, and pumpkin seeds.
Sprinkle over the pomegranate seeds.
Whisk together the dressing ingredients and drizzle over the top.
Why It Works?
The ovulation phase is when oestrogen peaks and you naturally feel your most radiant — but it’s also when your body can benefit from antioxidant-rich foods to reduce inflammation and support skin health. This salad is loaded with colour and nutrients that work together to boost energy, protect your skin, and keep your hormones happy.
I love having this for lunch after a morning workout, especially with a tall glass of iced matcha on the side. It’s quick, it’s fresh, and it makes me feel like that girl.
